A Word from Our Honorary Chairman

Dear Readers,

It is my distinct honor to introduce this newest edition of Fulbright Israel Magazine.  As U.S. Ambassador to Israel and the honorary chair of Fulbright Israel, I am filled with admiration for the remarkable individuals whose stories fill these pages.  Each Fulbright fellow—whether American or Israeli—embodies the spirit of curiosity, courage, and commitment that has defined this program since its founding.

The Fulbright Program, born from the vision of Senator J. William Fulbright of my home state of Arkansas, stands as a testament to the enduring power of educational exchange.  Senator Fulbright believed that by bringing together people from different nations, we could foster understanding, break down barriers, and build a more peaceful world.  Decades later, his vision continues to bear fruit in the strong and vibrant partnership between the United States and Israel.

The successes highlighted in the following pages are more than personal achievements; they are chapters in a shared narrative of discovery and collaboration.  Through the exchange of knowledge, research, and culture, Fulbright fellows have enriched both our nations.  They have advanced science, deepened our appreciation for the arts, and forged friendships that transcend borders.  The mutual benefits are clear: our societies grow stronger, our understanding deepens, and our futures become more intertwined.

As we celebrate these accomplishments, I am reminded of the words of Scripture: “Blessed are the peacemakers.”  It is my hope and prayer that the bonds formed through the Fulbright Program will continue to sow seeds of understanding and goodwill, paving the way for lasting peace in this region.  May the ties between the United States and Israel grow ever stronger, guided by wisdom, compassion, and a shared commitment to a brighter tomorrow.
