Tamar Baruch’s documentary, “Her Name Was Zehava,” won the 2024 International Documentary Association (IDA Awards) David L. Wolper Student Documentary Award in December 2024. The IDA Awards is the world’s most prestigious event dedicated to the documentary genre. “Her Name Was Zehava” was additionally nominated for the Ophir Awards. Tamar Baruch earned her BFA in Film from the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University and York University in Toronto, and her MA in Documentary Film from NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. “Her Name Was Zehava” (2024), was also nominated for the Israeli Academy Awards (Ophir) and won the Best Documentary Short Film at the Haifa International Film Festival. Baruch is a recipient of fellowships from MacDowell, Yaddo, VCCA, and Bogliasco.
