Professor Alan Templeton was honored as The Blaustein Center for Scientific Cooperation Lecturer, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, 2025. A leading scientist in the 2024 Edition of the Research.Com Ranking of Top Scientists in the area of Ecology and Evolution, Templeton also served as Special Editor for the Israel Journal of Ecology and Evolution’s issue in memoriam of Leon Blaustein in 2025. Templeton is an evolutionary geneticist with a Ph.D. in human genetics and an MA in statistics.  Since all life has genes and evolves, he can study virtually any biological system. His current work is concentrated into two main areas: human genetic epidemiology, and applying genetics and genomics to endangered species and other problems in conservation biology.
