Dr. Roy Marom’s book Settled Land: the Arab Countryside in Israel/Palestine (Lamda: the Open University of Israel Press) won first place in the Goldberg Foundation Prize for outstanding book manuscript. Marom, a Polonsky Academy Fellow at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute and former Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley, researches the history and geography of rural Palestine and directs the Palestinian Rural History Project, which has documented over 1,000 Palestinian and Jewish communities.
